Dear parents and carers,
Following on from the letter sent out from Mr Beamish yesterday, I thought I would just remind you of how we are meeting the government guidelines at both Allhallows and Stoke Primary Academies.
All classes are taught in year group bubbles that contain up to 30 children. Children stay in their class bubbles at all times in the day and are separated from others at both lunch and break times. Within their bubbles, children do not need to socially distance from one another but children and adults do need to socially distance from one another as much as possible. We continue to consistently wash hands and sanitise as a consistent part of the school day. Children will continue to wear their PE kits into school on their allocated PE days and reading books will still be collected every Friday and given out each Monday.
We will continue with the staggered start and end times at allocated gates or doors. From the beginning of next week, I will be asking for all parents to wear a face mask when entering the school site for drop off and pick up times. We do appreciate that some of you may be exempt from wearing masks due to medical reasons or you may choose not to wear one but as the government has taken extra measures, we felt that this is necessary as well as reminding you all to be socially distancing outside the schools and trying not to gather together as much as possible.
We maintain high standards of cleanliness at both sites, including daytime janitors continually cleaning toilets and touch points during the day and then each site is deep cleaned every evening. Contrary to what has been shared on social media locally, there are risk assessments for the sites and minibuses which are checked and updated on a weekly basis by the Principal and Academies Director. The minibus is deep cleaned every evening before they are used by our children and touch points are cleaned between journeys with it being cleaned again at Hundred of Hoo before returning at the end of the school day. This all follows the government guidelines on dedicated transport for travel at schools.
Just a reminder that you are able to form a childcare bubble with another household for the purposes of informal childcare and we are aware that some households will be able to benefit from being in a support bubble, which allows single adult households to join another household. We would ask that you kindly let either school office know if there is to be anyone from a childcare or support bubble that your child may sometimes be picked up by so that we are aware.
Please ensure that you keep us informed immediately if you, your child or anyone in your household have any symptoms or have been in direct contact with somebody who has tested positive for COVID 19. We of course will update you as soon as possible if there were to be any reported cases within the school and what our next steps would be. Please rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of the children and adults at Allhallows and Stoke.
As for the normal celebrations that we would have this term on the lead up to Christmas, we will be looking at what we can do in school and hopefully film so we can put some clips onto the websites to share with you. I will share more details later in the term once we have decided on the best way to proceed.
Please take care and keep safe at this time.
Mrs L Rimmer
